The records of the Raleigh Chapter of ECOS, Inc. contain clippings, pamphlets, correspondence, meeting information, and other general information about the organization. ECOS, Inc. was established in or before 1970 by student groups at North Carolina State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an organization to encourage the preservation of the environment and the introduction of beneficial alternatives to everyday pollutants. NC State's chapter disbanded in or after 1976; ECOS eventually disbanded as well, though that date is also unknown.
